Environmental Data

  Emissions of Air Pollutants
In countries where its activities are subject to less rigorous regulatory requirements, Veolia Environmental Services is working to reduce its facilities emissions to comply with more stringent European standards (European Union).

  Emissions of Greenhouse Gases
Veolia Environmental Services contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through various actions: promoting the transfer of waste by rail and waterway, smooth driving training, production of thermal energy and electricity from waste, recovery of bottom ash and metals after incineration, recovery of waste through compost…aeration, recovery of waste through compost…

Veolia Environnement has developed a tool to identify and monitor those Veolia Environmental Services priority sites that are in Biodiversity Hotspots (biogeographic region with a significant reservoir of biodiversity that is threatened with destruction). Veolia Environnement is developing an autodiagnostic questionnaire which will allow its priority sites to assess the impact of its activities on biodiversity.
  Resource Management
Veolia Environmental Services’ recycling activities allow to minimize the human impact on the environment. The company also contributes to the production of renewable energy using biomass from waste. For example, the production of 1 t of recycled paper can save 90,000 l of water and 3,200 KWh of energy.

  Water Management
Distribution of water consumption by activity
Veolia Environmental Services is raising the awareness on the need to moderate its consumption of water and limit the impact of its water discharges on the environment.
